rar files on linux

Tools Installation:

Via Synaptic:
Install rar, and par2 packages:
  apt-get install rar
  apt-get install par2

Uncompress a rar file:

To uncompress a rar file, you have to use the following command:
  rar e NomDuFichier.rar
 
Case of multi-archives files:
  rar e NomDuFichier.part01.rar

Repair an archive:

When error occurs during the decompression of an archive, use the par2 tool commands to repair..
Be careful: to repair an archive, you must have PAR2 files!!!
 
Check all files:
  par2verify *.par2
 
Repair the archive:
  par2repair *.par2
